There’s so much to do around Hardy Farm during the winter.  One of our favorite activities, however, is downhill skiing.  Lucky for us there are plenty of options when it comes to where to take our off-campus adventures.  We love Shawnee Peak for its proximity to the Farm and Sunday River for its apres ski. We can think of no better way to enjoy some Maine adventure with  your family and friends than with a ski trip smack dab in the middle of your wedding weekend!

Shawnee Peak: 13.1 miles or just 20 minutes from Hardy Farm. Shawnee Peak offers both day and night skiing and over 40 trails covering 249 acres of mountain. This is the perfect family mountain for a quick day trip during your wedding weekend.

Attitash Mountain ResortFor a slightly bigger mountain, try Attitash Mountain Resort, located just 20 miles or just over 30 minutes from Hardy Farm. Attitash features 67 trails across two big, connected mountains.  They also have acres of glades and tree skiing as well as a freestyle terrain park.

Wildcat Mountain: Uniquely located near Mount Washington, yet only 45 minutes from Hardy Farm, Wildcat Mountain gets tons of snow all winter long. If you’re looking for a late season spring skiing adventure for your family, this is the mountain for you!

Mount Abram: If you’re new to skiing or are looking to get a little further from the Farm (about an hour), Mount Abram is a great choice.  They offer plenty of “gentle novice slopes”, as well as black diamond trails to entice the more experienced in your group.

Sunday River Resort: Equa-distant to the Farm as Mount Abram, Sunday River offers everything one could hope for in a ski resort. From its 133 trails over almost a thousand acres to its delicious restaurants and lively apres ski option, Sunday River has it all. Perfect for a day trip over your wedding weekend, or a mini-moon after the festivities are over.
